Cookie Policy

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit. They are widely used to make websites work correctly, to improve performance, and to provide information to the owners of the site.

In addition to traditional cookies, this site also uses localStorage and sessionStorage — browser storage mechanisms that work similarly but are never transmitted to the server. Where a storage item is used instead of a cookie, this is noted in the tables below.

This policy covers all cookies and storage items set by Complaix Ltd at https://www.complaix.io, in accordance with the UK ICO's guidance on cookies and similar technologies.

2. How We Use Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:

  • Strictly necessary: To operate the site securely, authenticate signed-in users, and process payments safely.
  • Analytics: To understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. We use Umami, a privacy-first analytics tool that does not set cookies and does not track individuals across websites.
  • Preferences: To remember your display choices (theme, language, currency) so you do not need to re-select them on every visit.

We do not use cookies for advertising or cross-site behavioural tracking. We do not sell or share cookie data with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Strictly Necessary Cookies

These cookies are essential for the website to function. They cannot be disabled because the site cannot operate securely without them. No consent is required to set these cookies under UK PECR Regulation 6(4).

4. Analytics Cookies

We use Umami Analytics to measure site traffic and understand how visitors interact with our content. Umami is a cookieless analytics platform: it does not set any browser cookies and does not fingerprint or track individual users across websites. Aggregate, anonymised data is stored on our own infrastructure.

The consent preference record below is stored in your browser's localStorage. It is a first-party item used solely to honour your consent choices and is not shared with any third party.

6. Third-Party Cookies

When you proceed to checkout, our payment processor Stripe sets cookies on your device. These are strictly necessary for secure payment processing and fraud prevention. Stripe's use of cookies is governed by their own privacy policy.

We do not embed third-party advertising, social media tracking pixels, or any other third-party scripts beyond those listed below.

7. Managing Your Preferences

You can update your cookie preferences at any time. Strictly necessary cookies cannot be disabled as they are required for the site to function securely.

Change your consent preferences

Click the button below to reopen the cookie preference panel and update your choices.

Browser-level controls

You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from signing in or completing a payment. For guidance, visit aboutcookies.org.

Opt out of Umami analytics

Umami respects the Do Not Track (DNT) browser header. If you enable DNT in your browser settings, Umami will not record your visits. You can also decline analytics cookies in the preference panel above.
